Monstrous Setup

Instructions

**** NOTE ****

I apologize for the following rigid structure, but Monstrous must be placed in the following folder for the presets to work:

c:\program files\steinberg\vstplugins\Monstrous

Inside the new Monstrous folder, please make another folder called 'Library'

Inside the Library folder, please make two new folders called 'Collections' and 'Individual'

Download the synth first  Use winrar (www.rarlabs.com) to decompress the file and place that in the \Monstrous main folder.  You will now see the following:

Monstrous.dll in:

c:\program files\Steinberg\vstplugins\Monstrous\

and the Monstrous support files in (this is automatic and is not downloaded.  This file folder will be created the first time you run Monstrous.dll in your host:

c:\program files\Steinberg\vstplugins\Monstrous\Monstrous\

The Monstrous Library files should be copied here:

c:\program files\steinberg\vstplugins\Monstrous\Library\

You are done setting up the Monstrous synth.  Now download the sound library.

Download each alphabetized file and decompress them using winrar.  The following table shows where each file should be placed:

Individual files should be placed here (this includes updates unless otherwise instructed):

c:\program files\steinberg\vstplugins\Monstrous\Library\Individual\

Collections files should be placed here:

c:\program files\steinberg\vstplugins\Monstrous\Library\Collections\

Now download the presets.  Put these in a Presets folder in the Library folder, so it should look like this:

c:\program files\steinberg\vstplugins\Monstrous\Library\Presets\

Make sure to check back here as we will be adding more presets in the future.  Until Monstrous has a full patch browser, you will use your host's patch and bank save and load capabilities to save and load presets and banks of presets into Monstrous.  Consult your host's manual on how to load and save FXP (presets) and FXB (banks) files.
